What’s the Word?

+++“Don’t Waste Your Life” Ephesians 5:15-17  

The Bible says: “Make the most of every opportunity, be wise;” and “Try to understand what God wants you to do.” Would you honestly like to know what God wants you to do with your life? I know I would. On September 12, we begin 40 Days of Purpose by addressing this question. On Sunday, we address three important questions of life: What does God want? What does it take? Why should we do it?     

+ CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Orientation to Sunday School takes place today in the Education Building. The new class schedule begins next Sunday, September 13 (Rally Sunday).

+ ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Pastor Dankis will lead a discussion decisions made at the LMMS national convention held last July in Houston.  In a separate topic, proposed changes to the KOK Constitution and Bylaws will also be presented.  Copies of both these items are on the table in the Fellowship Hall.  Please help yourself to a copy.   

Weekly Spotlight

+ YOUNG AT HEART BIBLE STUDY meets every Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the Shepherd’s Room. Current study is of Luther’s Small Catechism.

+CHILDREN’S LEARNING CENTER: Parent Orientation/Meet the Teacher is September 2nd & 3rd at 9:30 a.m. The first day of school is September 7^th for T/Th, T/W/Th, and T/W/Th/F classes. W/F classes first day of school is September 8th at 9:30 a.m.

+ PRAISE BAND PRACTICE is on Thursday at 7:00 pm

+ CHURCH OFFICE is closed on Friday and Monday.

+LWML COFFEE CLUSTER is Sunday. Ladies, please remember to bring bake goods to share between services. If you can help serve or clean up, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance and for your willingness to serve the Lord.

+ NO CONFIRMTAION CLASSES or Small Group Bible Studies next Sunday, September 5^th.   Classes will  resume on September 12 at 6p.m.

On the Radar:

+CHOIR Rehearsal starts on Wed., Sep. 8 at 7:00p.m. They rehearse
every Wednesday evening during the school year from 7:00 to 8:15pm in the sanctuary and sing for services once a month.

+ SUNDAY SCHOOL REGISTRATION: If you did not receive a Sunday
School registration  form, you may find them on the Information Table in
the Fellowship Hall. All students need to register with current address
and phone numbers.
+ RALLY SUNDAY is on September 12th, which starts the new Sunday
School year.
