AT KING OF KINGS
Thankfully Lutheran - Adult Bible Study
We're all thankful to be members of the Body of Christ and the family here at King of Kings, but what does it really mean to be Lutheran? In this study, we will look a bit at the heritage and doctrine that makes the Lutheran Church a powerful witness for Christ in the modern age. We'll talk about some history, some theology, and explore what it means to be Lutheran in 2019. Alvin Bennet begins teaching at 9:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
We are looking for voices to sing during the Christmas Eve services! Anyone age 12-adult is welcome to come sing! Rehearsals will begin in November. Please sign up on the choir interest form in the Narthex or contact Brittany Mahn
Parents are studying the book Raising Teens in a Contrary Culture by Mark Gregston. The hope during this time is that it will open an opportunity for study, discussion and Community that will help make that journey a bit easier for parents. They meet every other Sunday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Contact Gail Dankis or Jennifer Hicks for more information.
The Power of Knowing God
You may know about God, but do you truly know what He says about Himself—and what He wants from you? In this study, women will go through the Bible and see what God has to say about Himself. Speak with Lori Kliebert, Chris Leistico, or Vicki Boriack. The ladies meet Thursday mornings from 9:15 am to 11:00 am.
Church Under the Bridge
CUB serves the homeless of Austin by preparing meals at church, driving the food into Austin, and serving it to the homeless. Please consider helping this ministry every 2nd Sunday of the month. You may reach the church office to get contact info.
The high school youth at King of Kings have begun meeting for Youth Nights! They are gathering Tuesday nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for worship, games, and food! Bring yourself. Bring a friend. Have fun! We have finished our regular Youth Night schedule and will be holding summer Youth Nights once a month. Keep an eye out here for dates and details!
Stephen ministers are the "After People". They are there for you:
· after the phone call you hoped you’d never get,
· after the relationship falls apart and the bottom falls out of your life,
· after the doctor says, “I’m sorry, but there’s nothing more we can do.”,
· after you find a pink slip with your final paycheck,
· after your family and friends have heard your story one too many times, but you still need to talk it out.
Stephen Ministers are the After People. They are ready to come alongside you—or your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives—and provide comfort and support for as long after as needed. Please contact the church office or the pastors if you would like to speak with a Stephen Minister.

Young at Heart
Our Tuesday morning Bible study is taking a break for a few weeks. We will meet in the Shepherd's Room at 9:00 am. When we do, we will be studying Lutheran doctrine as presented in the Book of Concord. Please speak with Pastor Chris if you would like to purchase "Concordia: the Lutheran Confessions" for class.
