WHAT WE BELIEVE
  • We believe in one triune God who is three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that everyone is a sinner and falls short of God’s glory. We believe that without faith we are incapable of loving or believing in God.

  • We believe God the Father created all things, visible and invisible.

  • We believe God the Father sent His only Son, Christ Jesus, to become human. As the only perfect human, Jesus lived a righteous, God-pleasing life. He took upon Himself the weight of our sins when He was betrayed, beaten, and crucified on the cross. By doing this, He atoned for and forgave the sins of all people.

  • We believe Jesus did not stay dead. We believe He was resurrected, that He came back to life on Easter morning. We believe He has ascended into heaven and is sitting at the right hand of the God the Father.

  • We believe Jesus is present with us in His Holy Word, the Bible.

  • We believe that in Baptism, through the Word and water, God marks us as His own, makes us a member of His family, and gives us saving faith.

  • We believe Jesus is really present in the meal of Holy Communion. In Holy Communion we receive His true body and blood in, with, and under the bread and the wine. In this sacrament Jesus forgives our sins, gives us eternal life, strengthens our faith, and reminds us of our salvation through the eating and drinking of His true body and blood.

  • We believe Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us. We believe the Holy Spirit gives us faith, encourages and enables us in our walk with God, and intercedes for us to God the Father.

  • The Holy Spirit works through the universal church to minister to the world, forgive sins, and create a community of faith that will exist into everlasting life.

  • We believe that Jesus is returning on the Last Day. On that Day all creation will be restored to perfection, everyone will be raised from the dead, and the unbelievers will be judged to eternal separation from God in Hell and that believers will be blessed to live with God in the new Creation.

  • We believe that our lives and actions today are important and valuable. We take seriously what we believe and what we say, think, and do.

  • We believe that we are called to make disciples by teaching the faith and baptizing people in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
